General Astrology. Zodiac Signs. Part 1

Before you is a truly legendary book: the first volume of the series "General Astrology" by the well-known Russian astrologer, esotericist, psychologist, philosopher, writer, and poet Avessalom Podvodny. "General Astrology" is the first systematic course of classical astrology in Russia. A distinctive feature of the course is the psychological elaboration of the basic astrological concepts and ideas. In its first part, "Zodiac Signs", the psychological characteristics of the zodiac signs are examined in detail, both in themselves and under the influence of the planets of a specific horoscope.

This textbook is not intended for first-time encounters with astrology; it is assumed that the reader has at least a superficial understanding of the basic characteristics of zodiac signs, planets, houses, and aspects. (The term "aspect" is used in the text not only to denote a specific arc between planets but also in the sense of a planet belonging to a certain sign or house, for example, the aspect of Mars in Aries.) In his book "Zodiac Signs", the author provides descriptions of signs and planets, houses, and all kinds of aspects, aiming to convey some intuitive sense, based on which one should interpret the chart.

According to Avessalom Podvodny, "the most brilliant knowledge of astrology does not replace attention to the specific individual: only in direct contact with them can one understand the emphasis of their chart: the absolute and relative strength of signs, planets, and aspects, and the level of their development. An astrological chart is not a key, but at the same time, it is a microscope and a binocular, through which you look at a person, but if you do not want or cannot see them, the tools are of no use to you."
