Henry Huggins

"Henry Huggins" is the debut book of American writer Beverly Cleary, which was released in 1950 and immediately brought success to the author. Over the next 50 years, Cleary wrote about 30 more books and became, in the words of... her young readers, a "true living classic." The book contains six stories. In the first one, Henry meets Ribsy and takes him home on the bus. Passengers will remember this ride for a long time. And Henry along with Ribsy will be delivered home by a police car. In the second story, Henry gets guppy fish. Suddenly, the guppies begin to breed so rapidly that they fill all the jars in the house and literally evict Henry from his room. In the third story, due to Henry, a brand new soccer ball belonging to an annoying boy goes missing. The neighbor fisherman offers Henry a way to earn some money, but to get the required amount, Henry will have to catch more than a thousand night crawlers. In the fourth story, Henry gets the lead role in a Christmas operetta, but he really doesn't want to play it. He devises ways to avoid participating in the performance, but none of his plans work out. Avoiding disgrace is aided by chance... and Ribsy. In the fifth story, Henry shows Ribsy at a dog show. The dog behaves terribly. And Henry's hope of winning the silver trophy diminishes with every passing minute. In the sixth story, the friendship between Ribsy and Henry faces a serious test, as Ribsy's previous owner has reappeared.
