Plutonia

The Russian writer and scientist Vladimir Afanasyevich Obruchev recreates a picture of the distant past of our planet in his novel. The heroes of the book undertake an incredible journey to the depths of the Earth, where they will have to overcome many difficulties and dangers.
A group of brave explorers sets off on an expedition to the Arctic region, where they discover an amazing underground country, which they name Plutonia, populated by astonishing animals, insects, and plants that have long been extinct on the surface of the Earth. Along with the heroes of the book, readers will encounter mammoths and saber-toothed tigers, see flying reptiles and gigantic turtles, catch huge dragonflies resembling fairy elves, and, of course, meet the ancient ancestors of humans.
Illustrations by the famous artist Yuri Bogachev draw the reader into the mysterious world of Plutonia - a world where the sun shines day and night, giant ants live, and griffins of unprecedented size fly.
