Anne of Green Gables

The books of Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery have been beloved by readers in many countries for several decades: they are published in million-copy editions in the USA, Canada, Australia, and films and theatrical productions are based on them. The small town on Prince Edward Island, where the writer lived for many years and where her books take place, has become a landmark visited by hundreds of tourists. 
The novel "Anne of Green Gables," based on the author's childhood impressions of being left without parents in early childhood, like her heroine, was written in 1905. The popularity of the book about a girl from an orphanage who achieved success in life and is surrounded by numerous friends was unprecedented. After its release, the writer received thousands of letters requesting her to continue Anne's story. 
The book opens the "Romantic" series, which will include the best works of sentimental literature for girls, telling about the difficult period of growing up.
