Young witch Kiki has turned thirteen, which means it's time to start an independent life. Choose a city where there are no other witches, find a job she loves, and learn to cope with difficulties. And there are many challenges... for a thirteen-year-old girl, even if she weren't a witch. Finally, on a clear full moon night, Kiki flies off to a new life. She decides to start it in the large seaside city of Koriko, where witches are barely heard of. Now she needs to settle in and earn a living with some witch's craft, of which Kiki has mastered only broom flying and chatting with her black cat Jiji. But the solution comes rather quickly – for people will always need a prompt delivery service! And Kiki gets down to business. 
Eiko Kadono wrote her first stories about Kiki in 1985. Inspired by the success and numerous literary awards in Japan, she continued the story of the young witch – much to the delight of fans, including the great Hayao Miyazaki, who created his animated masterpiece in 1989 based on Kadono's books. And in 2014, a full-length feature film was released. For the first time in Russian!
