Greedy Shurochka

Little Shurochka went for a walk, and in her hands was a delicious poppy seed bun. And then, out of nowhere, came a hen with chicks, a cow with a calf, and a goat with a kid - and they all wanted a piece too. Oh, how sorry Shurochka felt for her delicious bun! In this simple story, there is a lesson understandable even to the smallest little girls and kind young men. Amusing and charming illustrations for the poem by Konstantin Ryazanov were drawn by the artist Maria Butrova, who collaborated for many years with children's publishers and magazines.
