First Steps of a Little Pianist

The collection contains artistic and instructional material for initial work with children during 2 to 3 years of study. The collection was first published in 1985.
It is intended for students of the lower grades of children's music schools.

The collection includes music from many previously published children's educational materials; in addition, arrangements of children's songs from solfeggio textbooks and collections for kindergartens have been specially made for it, as well as samples of folk music included.

The pieces in the collection vary in character and style, as well as in musical and technical tasks. They are arranged in order of gradually increasing complexity of these tasks.

The publication consists of two sections: the 1st section - songs, easy pieces, variations and sonatinas, etudes, the 2nd section - ensembles. When working with a student, both sections should be used in parallel, as the ensembles complement the main material and provide great benefit to the child's musical development.
