Ancient Art of Healing in the Mahabharata and Ramayana

The civilization of Ancient India is one of the oldest in the world. Its achievements in various fields of knowledge still amaze us today: discoveries in mathematics and medicine are relevant even now. Ancient Indian culture has given us various spiritual traditions and created literature of remarkable depth. Many still turn to the texts of the Puranas and Upanishads in search of answers to complex philosophical questions and immerse themselves in the 'Ramayana' and 'Mahabharata', true treasures of Sanskrit literature. This work shows how ancient Indian achievements in medicine are reflected in the main epic works of Ancient India – 'Ramayana' and 'Mahabharata'. What did ancient Indians see as the causes of diseases? What ailments were known to them? What was the attitude towards the human body and the healer who helps maintain its health?
