Shri Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952) was sent to America by his Teacher with the guidance: “The material achievements of the West are very high, but it lacks spiritual understanding and deep meditation that brings True Salvation. According to the will of the Almighty Creator, your mission is to help humanity understand how important the balance is between the external, material, and internal, spiritual aspects of life.” At the age of 27, Yogananda arrived in the USA, where he lived until the end of his life, introducing the Teachings of Kriya Yoga to hundreds of thousands of people. Today, Swami Yogananda has many followers around the world. Millions of people are changing their way of life, following the example of the Great Teacher. By observing how outstanding individuals solve life's problems, we learn from them and are inspired by their example. They teach us how we should awaken, rise, and dedicate our time to concentration, meditation, and contemplation, in order to discover the essence of Truth.
