The Books of Ieo. Gnostic-Magical Texts

The 1st and 2nd Books of Ieo – Coptic gnostic texts from the second half of the 4th century, the Greek originals of which, also written in Egypt, are dated to the 3rd century. The texts, which are the best examples of the available gnostic high magic, are attributed presumably to the later representatives of Valentinian gnosticism. This edition is the first Russian literary translation of the Books of Ieo, which have been of consistent interest to readers for many centuries, appealing to those interested in early Christianity as well as higher magic and theurgy of late antiquity.
