Paramarthasara of Abhinavagupta. The Essence of Highest Reality

The philosopher and saint Swami Lakshmanju chose to reveal "Paramarthasara" - "The Essence of Highest Reality", since, as its great commentator Abhinavagupta says, this text contains the essence of an ancient teaching of non-dual Kashmiri Shaivism that had long been hidden. In his clear, direct, and inspired interpretation, Swami Lakshmanju unveils the veil over the oral tradition that conveys the living breath of this profound philosophical system, which is both metaphysical and practical. Originally, "Paramarthasara" was written by Patanjali, the author of the famous "Yoga Sutras"; however, Abhinavagupta rethought and adapted it to convey the deep truths of Kashmiri Shaivism doctrine. In the concluding lines, Abhinavagupta writes: "I have presented this Paramarthasara" briefly - in a hundred verses. And although it consists of only a hundred verses in form, in the volume of knowledge contained within it, it surpasses ten million verses."
