Guptasadhana-tantra

«Guptasadhana-tantra» is a concise presentation of the main concepts of Bengal-Assamese vamachara. The title of the text means «tantra of the secret [religious-mystical] practice». The ritual practice is based on the interaction between man and woman. It is one of the well-known Shakti-tantras, i.e., tantras dedicated to the cult of Shakti – the divine feminine principle. This principle, whose manifestations in Hinduism are considered to be all female beings in the world, represents the active pole of the universe, in contrast to the passive male.
A separate section is devoted to the theme of stri-guru – the woman-teacher. It describes the worship of Dakshinakali, Dhanady (a form of Lakshmi), and Matangi. The concluding chapter discusses the Gayatri mantra.
