This book is dedicated to the interaction of two currents of thought in seventeenth-century Germany: the philosophy of the Enlightenment and the complex of ideas known as Rosicrucianism. Emerging in the early seventeenth century and relying on Pietism, Freemasonry, Kabbalah, and alchemy, the Rosicrucian movement in Germany experienced a revival in the eighteenth century.
