The Devil's Picture Book. A Complete Guide to Tarot Cards: Their Origin and Use

Paul Hewson was born in London in 1942. He claims that one of his English ancestors, Alice Hewson, was hanged for witchcraft in 1664, and an early fascination with the supernatural almost got him expelled from school. At 17, he enrolled in the Felix Slade School of Fine Arts, where he was awarded a scholarship for postgraduate work in film art. He left Slade and went to America, where he worked as an assistant director in theater and also held exhibitions of his paintings. In 1965, he returned to England to work as a set designer at the BBC, which he left for work as a production designer in feature films, including "Otley" (1969) and "Virgin Soldiers" (1969). In 1968, he returned to America and to the metaphysics that had interested him since his youth. He developed his own tarot card deck and completed the book "Mastering Witchcraft." He now lives in Los Angeles, continuing to write and paint.
