This textbook is intended for the development of Russian speech skills in Russian-speaking children aged 5-7 years, who live abroad. It can be used both in kindergartens and schools of the additional education system, as well as in the primary grades of general education schools that offer lessons in Russian as a native language. It is best to start using this book immediately after mastering the alphabet. During the classes, children listen to Russian speech, read, play, and converse in Russian.
The textbook stimulates active use of the Russian language in both oral and written forms and aims to fill the gap in Russian language lessons during preschool preparation and the first grade. The main focus of the textbook is to help the child learn to communicate in Russian on topics that are interesting to them and to purposefully apply their knowledge of the Russian language.
The setting chosen is the circus. Circus art is inherently international, and the animals performing in the circus come from different continents. This is a familiar situation for a child, who hears everyone speaking different languages around them, so they feel in a natural environment. Children love the circus for its magical transformations and the uniqueness of everything: the space, the language, the clothing, the behavior of the characters. This conditionality becomes a reason for conversation on a variety of topics in the textbook - from cleaning the apartment to flying into space, from word games to reflections on human feelings.
The course is designed for 40 weeks of study, with 90 minutes per week. The preface offers methodological recommendations for parents and educators.
