About the Cat. Poems by Russian Poets

Kittens and big cats, purring and rascals, homebodies and wanderers, gray and red - these whiskered favorites are always at the top of their owners' hearts: it's no wonder they say that cats rule the world. Poets dedicate poems to them, and sometimes even entire poems, artists create portraits that just beg to be petted. The collection "About the Cat" features poems by Russian poets, whose main characters are cats. Daniil Kharms and Yunna Morits, Anna Akhmatova and Afanasy Fet, Sasha Chorny and Ivan Bunin, Teffi and Alexander Vvedensky admire and marvel at cats. The book is adorned with works by the famous St. Petersburg artist Maria Pavlova. The cats in her illustrations are warm, fluffy, and so alive that they seem ready to purr.
