The book includes selected fables ("The Fox and the Grapes", "The Sun and the Wind", "The Ant and the Grasshopper", etc.), tales ("The Emperor's New Clothes", "The Three Bears", "The Little Moth", etc.) and stories ("The Lion and the Puppy", "Philipok", "The Kitten", "The Bone", etc.) from the educational books of L. N. Tolstoy. These works, created by the writer for the education of peasant children, are still part of the reading curriculum in elementary and high school, and remain an important part of the classic children's repertoire.
