In this world, people drive vintage cars, go to the cinema, listen to gramophones, and dance the Charleston… And in this world, there is scientifically based magic and the Gifted – people who can perform miracles or, as scientists say, control the "etheric currents." Among them is 12-year-old Marina Miracolo, the granddaughter of an antiquarian. Amazingly, it is she who will have to confront the mysterious criminal Chimera, who keeps the entire city in fear. And not just meet the villain, but leave him with nothing. Of course, alone, the girl would never cope with the criminal gang. She will be helped by a new friend – Jan Fuchs, not an ordinary boy, but an artificer. Who is he and what talents does he possess?
