The Wonderful Doctor. Stories

Alexander Kuprin (1870 — 1938) – a famous Russian writer, author of novels, stories, essays and tales. The poet Sasha Cherny spoke of A. Kuprin's work: "Literary forms change… but the simplicity, depth and clarity that breathe through all the artistic pages of Kuprin have long placed him beyond capricious fashion and led him to a solid, beloved place in the consciousness… of readers".

Kuprin's stories for children teach kindness towards people and helping them. The hero of the story "The Wonderful Doctor", Professor Pirogov, is an example of mercy and love. In his childhood, he experienced a miraculous event that prompted him to become a doctor and save people. For the impoverished Mertsalov family, the doctor is a true guardian angel: he not only treats the sick girl but also changes the lives of the characters. Through this story, young readers learn that even one good deed is capable of making the world better.
