Brave Tilly. Notes of a Puppy Written with a Tail

What a happy and carefree life the Scottish terrier Tilly had! Together with her owner Lena, the puppy went for walks, barked at cats on the television, and walked on her hind legs—all to please her beloved Lena. But then a cute, harmless kitten named Murzik appeared in the apartment… Don't be fooled by his charm! In fact, Murzik is a brazen liar: he ate a sausage and blamed Tilly for it! Offended, the puppy decided to escape to the forest—there, she would find loyal friends, and her life would be better.

But will a domestic puppy be able to get along with wild beasts?

The writer Yan Leopoldovich Larry (1900 – 1977) is known for his famous novella "The Extraordinary Adventures of Karik and Vali." Besides that, he wrote many other works, including the tale "Brave Tilly. Notes of a Puppy Written with a Tail." It first appeared in the pages of the magazine "Murzilka" in 1970. This is an exciting story about how the puppy Tilly quarreled with her owner and ran away into the forest. The city puppy was completely unprepared for life in the forest; she wanted to befriend the local inhabitants, but not everyone turned out to be as kind-hearted as Tilly…
