Alphabet

The book is based on the "Alphabet" of 1874 and the "New Alphabet" of 1875. The text is divided into sections that correspond to the stages of learning literacy. The publication preserves the author's structure as much as possible, but in some cases, changes have been made to suit the perception of modern children. For convenience, explanations of the pedagogical ideas of Leo Tolstoy are provided at the beginning of each section, along with how the author suggested that readers use the "Alphabet" as a textbook. The book contains bright, colorful illustrations. All texts are formatted with diacritics. Unfamiliar words are explained in footnotes.
