"Jackal: Alpha Centauri" is a standalone board game from the creators of the cult classic "Jackal", but now set in a futuristic space setting. Players explore a randomly generated planet, uncovering tiles and searching for treasures. The main goal is to find gold and deliver it to your ship faster than the others. The surface of the planet hides traps and discoveries, and above it hovers an abandoned station, where you can find artifacts that grant your astronauts special abilities. The game is suitable for families, friends, and anyone who loves exploration and adventure. Colorful components, special abilities, and a modular game board make this board game truly replayable. A great choice for cozy evenings and fun battles in space!
How to play?
The game begins with players landing their astronauts on a mysterious planet made up of closed tiles. On their turn, a participant chooses one of their characters and moves them across the surface, exploring new cells. Each step can turn into either luck or a trap – as beneath the tiles, there are teleporters, traps, elevators, gold, and even entrances to the space station. The found gold bars must be delivered to your own ship, but opponents can intercept the cargo or set up an ambush. Some cells allow players to acquire artifacts that grant special abilities or advantages in movement. To win, one must take risks, be cunning, calculate moves, and choose – to search for gold on the surface or head to the orbital station for artifacts. Each turn is a step into the unknown, where your choice determines the fate of the expedition.
Who won?
The winner is the player whose crew delivers the most gold bars to their ship by the end of the game. Gold is mined during the exploration of the planet – it must not only be found but also successfully delivered to the ship while avoiding traps and opposition from rivals. In case of a tie in the number of bars, the one who mined the gold first wins. So not only greed but also speed matters – the cosmic victory goes to the most nimble and foresighted!
