The History of Witchcraft

The proposed book is written by the English author and religious figure Montague Summers (1880-1948). Protestant by birth, in his youth Summers converted to Catholicism and became an authoritative spiritual teacher, which in no way hindered his lifelong interest in demonology. His famous "History of Witchcraft" (1926) contains a colossal amount of factual material, concluding that black magic indeed exists and the medieval "witch hunts" were not always explained solely by church obscurantism.
