The Childhood of Tyoma

The story by Nikolai Garin-Mikhailovsky tells about the early years of Tyoma's life, the restless eight-year-old son of a retired general, his family, domestic life, and strict, contradictory upbringing. Through everyday events, joys, and experiences of the hero, the author reveals the inner world of the child, his aspiration for justice, kindness, and understanding.
