A dictation is one of the ways to learn correct writing for reinforcing skills and checking students' knowledge. Depending on the main goal of the assessment, educational and control dictations are distinguished. The manual includes the main types of educational dictations in grade 3: dictations for vocabulary, explanatory, selective, distributive, warning, as well as test (control) dictations. The dictations focus on the main orthographic rules studied in grade 3. For self-checking, dictations are offered via a QR code. For convenience, the manual includes rules for review before writing dictations and the main types of analysis in grade 3 – phonetic, morphemic (analysis of a word by its components), morphological, syntactical.

After each dictation, the child completes grammatical tasks. For parents and teachers, the manual includes a list of typical mistakes that children make in dictations.
