Vladimir Fyodorovich Odoevsky (1804–1869) is considered one of the first children's writers in Russia. He regarded children's literature as the most important part of a child's upbringing and development, believing that fairy tales should inspire imagination, teach observation, hard work,... and cultivate curiosity and kindness in a person.
