A Town in a Snuffbox. Tales

Vladimir Fyodorovich Odoevsky (1804–1869) is considered one of the first children's writers in Russia. He regarded children's literature as the most important part of a child's upbringing and development, believing that fairy tales should inspire imagination, teach observation, hard work, and cultivate curiosity and kindness in a person.

This collection includes the most famous works of V. F. Odoevsky for children – “A Town in a Snuffbox,” “Frost Ivanovich,” “An Indian Tale about Four Deaf Men.”

The illustrations for the tales were created by the brilliant master of book illustration Anatoly Mikhailovich Eliseev. His easily recognizable, expressive images of children and fairy-tale characters make the wonderful tales even more vivid and memorable.
