What is the name of one of the most famous dogs in world literature? Of course, it is Lassie. The most famous, the most loyal, the kindest dog is back! The book and the TV series about her adventures enjoy unwavering popularity around the world. Many generations of young readers have learned about kindness and love, empathizing with the brave and devoted dog.
Joe Carraclough, the son of an English miner, considered himself lucky. No wonder, as all the dog owners in Yorkshire envied him — there wasn’t such a purebred collie anywhere in England. Every day, Lassie would come to school to meet Joe, but one day she did not come. At home, Joe was met with terrible news — his parents sold the dog to get out of debt. But for the loyal dog, there was only one owner, the boy Joe. A high fence, an iron chain, and a distance of thousands of miles to her home did not scare Lassie — ahead of her was a long and dangerous journey home.
