The origin story of the "Folk Playing Cards" is murky and mysterious. But one thing we know for sure — they were very popular for divination in the 19th and 20th centuries. The cards of the deck were illustrated by our artist. We were inspired by the illustrations of the most popular edition and managed to create a more detailed and colorful deck. The instruction for this deck was written by Yevgenia Ustinova — a researcher, expert in the history of pre-revolutionary Russian divination and playing cards, and the creator of playing cards and oracles.
