The book has a continuous plot that the child can trace and retell, examining each character on each page. In this way, the little one, either alone or with the help of adults, learns not only about how to set up a tent or what a circus tent show is but also learns to understand other people, their actions, and deeds. In this regard, «At the Circus» can be placed on the same level as Nikolai Radlov's famous «Tales in Pictures». Goebel and Knorr's book is also useful for working with children by speech therapists, educators, and psychologists.
The artistry of detail in Goebel and Knorr is almost like in French painting of the 18th century, only – for children.
