The Jungle Books

"The Jungle Books" (1894-1895) — one of the most famous works of the great English poet and writer Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936), laureate of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907. It is in these books that the famous cycle of stories about Mowgli, the tales "The Miracle of Purun Bhagat," "The White Seal," "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi," and many poems — masterpieces of Kipling's creativity — were published. Despite the diversity of the collection, it is a very cohesive book, the core of which the author made an unshakeable moral law. Due to its multilayeredness, "The Jungle Books" are equally interesting to both children and adult readers. The afterword was prepared by the renowned literary scholar K. N. Atarova specifically for this edition. The publication is accompanied by detailed comments. For the first time in Russia, the book reproduces illustrations by the outstanding French artist Paul Jouve (1878-1973) from a rare Parisian bibliophile edition.
