One of the masterpieces of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is the children's album. It consists of musical sketches from the daily life and experiences of a child. The most ordinary day filled with their games, dances, fairy tales, and dreams.
The album consists of 24 pieces, with 10 of which you will become acquainted in this book.
Compositions describing the morning: «Morning Prayer», «Winter Morning», and, of course, always by the child's side is «Mama». The day, the games of boys and girls: «Playing Horses», «March of the Wooden Soldiers», «The Doll's Illness», «The Doll's Funeral». The child's inner world also encompasses the inevitable first losses, grief, and reflections on the meaning of life—these themes arise in the inner world of the child and require their experience.
Tchaikovsky created a sort of psychological cycle that introduces and reveals to us a whole palette of feelings and emotions.
The album concludes with the composition «The Lark's Song», which symbolizes rebirth.
