Addie is eleven, she lives in the Scottish village of Juniper, and because of autism, she knows better than anyone that being special is very difficult. But hundreds of years ago, being different from others was also dangerous, especially for... women. Learning that there was once a «witch hunt» in Juniper, Addie cannot come to terms with it. Because the innocent women who suffered were not witches — just different. Like Addie. That is why she begins a campaign to create a memorial to the brutal trials of a distant past.
