White Fang

"White Fang" is a story about the difficult fate of a half-wolf, half-dog during the days of the gold rush in America. White Fang's mother was half-wolf and half-dog, and his father was a wolf. He was born in the... northern wilderness and was the only surviving pup from his litter. Soon, White Fang and his mother were found by Indians, and Grey Beaver, one of the Indians, kept the puppy for his unique survival qualities. White Fang's life was not easy; he had to face cruelty and hunger. He learned many laws that had to be obeyed, and that the body of the "god" (human) is sacred. Ultimately, White Fang was sold to participate in dog fights, where he almost perished until he was rescued by the noble Mr. Scott. Mr. Scott took White Fang to California, where White Fang learned to be a loyal guard dog who would give his life for his owner. He became known as the "Invaluable Wolf" and eventually even became the father of domestic puppies, not wild wolves. This is a story about friendship, loyalty, and the all-conquering power of love.
