The Path to Absolute Freedom in Kashmiri Shaivism. Theoretical Foundations and Methods of Meditation

This work is dedicated to the examination of various aspects of the spiritual path in Kashmiri Shaivism. The spiritual path in this teaching is the path of realization of Absolute Freedom (svatantrya), which represents the very nature of the state of Shiva.

The book consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to describing the metaphysical foundations of the spiritual path in Kashmiri Shaivism. It addresses the following issues: the nature of the forces of Shiva, represented by the letters of the Sanskrit alphabet; thirty-six principles of being (tattvas) and their corresponding states of consciousness; stages and levels of the manifestation of the Universe; four paths of spiritual realization.

The second part describes numerous variants of meditative practices that can assist in achieving the highest goal of this teaching.
