Dao is simply the ultimate principle that unites all existence into a whole. Existence is not chaos, without a doubt, it is cosmos. It has a wonderful order, and this order is called Dao. Dao simply means the harmony of... the whole. There is no temple of Dao, no statues, no prayers, no priests, no rituals - and that is wonderful! Therefore, I do not call it a teaching or a religion. It is pure understanding. You can call it Dharma as Buddha referred to Dao. In English, the word that best fits Dao is Nature with a capital letter.
