Fairy Tales

Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) – a famous Danish writer. For more than two hundred years, children all over the world have been enchanted by his fairy tales. H.C. Andersen made a significant contribution to the development of world children's literature.... In the mid-20th century, a prestigious award in children's literature was established in his honor, and on the birthday of the Danish storyteller, April 2, the International Children's Book Day is celebrated. "Fairy Tales" is a collection prepared for the 220th anniversary of H.C. Andersen. It includes the five most popular and beloved fairy tales in our country: "Thumbelina," "The Princess and the Pea," "The Little Mermaid," "The Tinderbox," and "The Wild Swans." Illustrations by contemporary artist, laureate of the Russian Book Publishers Association award in 2022, Elizaveta Vedina. The illustrations for "The Little Mermaid" are published for the first time.
