The Tale of Bygone Years

"The Tale of Bygone Years" is the earliest of the ancient Russian chronicles that have come down to us today. Traditionally, its authorship is attributed to Nestor, a monk of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, who lived at the turn of the 11th-12th centuries. The book was translated into Russian by Academician Dmitry Likhachev.
