The Frog Princess

It was time for the three royal sons to get married. They set out to seek their fate: they went into an open field and shot arrows from their bows. The arrows of the older brothers were picked up by... the daughters of boyars and merchants, while the youngest, Ivan Tsarevich, was led by fate to a swamp: a frog caught his arrow. There was nothing to be done; he had to marry. But Ivan Tsarevich did not know that his wife was the enchanted Vasilisa the Wise. The illustrations for the magical story of the frog princess belong to the brush of Tatiana Mavrina - one of the greatest domestic illustrators of the 20th century. Her works are imbued with sincere love for Russian folklore and easily, recognizably, and accurately convey the color of folk tales.
