Rebuses and other similar word games are not just mental gymnastics. Preschoolers should timely "play" with letters and words. If this stage is missed, the child may have difficulties when writing: missing letters in a word, replacing letters based on optical similarity, distorting the sound-syllable structure of words, etc. It is important to remember that only interest and play can keep a child's attention in the right direction for a long time. Rebuses are a mystery, a riddle. It is the desire to solve the riddle that helps the child focus on the task.
