Fairy tales live in the culture of the people for centuries, carrying information about the connection between man and the world, introducing children to good and the inevitably existing evil, while helping adults remember simple and important truths. Fairy tales, as an invaluable genre for education and upbringing, are included in all school reading programs approved by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
In this book, we have gathered for you several beloved Russian folk tales processed by the writer A. N. Tolstoy and A. N. Afanasyev - a researcher of oral folk creativity, who preserved for us about 600 folk tales.
The heroes of the collection "By the Pike's Wish" are the reckless Emelya, the woeful Alyonushka with her brother Ivanushka, Vasilisa the Wise, turned into a frog by Koschei, and, of course, Prince Ivan and Baba Yaga, as well as the cheerful, resourceful, and loyal animals who help each other and their owners.
