Joan of Arc

In the book "Joan of Arc," written by the famous French historian and writer Franz Funck-Brentano (1862-1947), an engaging account of the life and deeds of France's national heroine Joan of Arc (1412-1431) is presented - from her childhood years... spent in the village of Domrémy to the brilliant victories of Joan the Liberator in the battles of the Hundred Years' War, which decided the fate of the French kingdom. The victor over the English invaders, who earned the nickname the Maid of Orléans, was captured and met a martyr's death at the stake. The edition features 40 illustrations by the outstanding French artist, painter, and master of book graphics Octave Guillonet (1872-1967).
