Ivan Sergeevich Sokolov-Mikitov (1892–1975) — writer, journalist, correspondent. His real surname is Sokolov. He took the pseudonym in honor of his beloved grandfather, who was affectionately called Mikita in a rural manner. I. Sokolov-Mikitov was an avid hunter and traveler. He had the remarkable gift of "listening" to the forest, distinguishing the voices of animals and birds. The magical kingdom of the forest comes alive on the pages of his books.
