Russian fairy tales. Baba Yaga, bony leg

A hut on chicken legs stands in the middle of the forest, and in it lives Baba Yaga, the bony leg. Ivan Tsarevich is carried through the thicket by a gray wolf, while a silver egg rolls around on a golden plate. All these characters and objects are familiar to every Russian person from early childhood; this is our first reading, our first impressions of the Russian word, of ancient Russian folklore. This collection includes three of the most famous Russian fairy tales — ‘Baba Yaga, bony leg’, ‘Ivan Tsarevich and the gray wolf’, and ‘Finist — a clear falcon’.
