Ruslan and Lyudmila

“Ruslan and Lyudmila” is a poem that glorified twenty-one year old Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. The idea for the work, inspired by Russian epics and legends, originated in 1817, before the poet's graduation from the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum. The first edition... is dated 1820.
The poem was received ambiguously — some critics considered it frivolous and indecent. However, it caused a sensation in the literary market of the 19th century and attracted the attention of both the professional and societal community to Pushkin. Today, this work is a classic of golden literature, mandatory for study in schools. “Ruslan and Lyudmila” is staged in theaters and operas, filmed, and reissued.
In honor of the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great poet, the publication “Wolves on Parachutes” is releasing a book with illustrations by contemporary artist Sasha Edelweiss.
