The Mitten

The plot of the Ukrainian folk tale "The Mitten" is similar to the plot of the Russian folk tale "The Teremok": an old man went into the forest for firewood; he walked and walked, and didn’t notice how he lost... his mitten. A little mouse ran by, saw the mitten, and decided to settle in it. Then a frog came hopping, a bunny ran in, after it came a fox, after the fox a wolf, a boar, a bear... As always happens in a fairy tale, there was enough room for everyone!..
The book is illustrated by the famous artist Evgeny Rachyov. It features drawings from the first and most famous version — the one that is now held in art museums around the world. One drawing is published for the first time.
The book is released for the 110th anniversary of the artist's birth.
