The Goat and the Giants

Ten-year-old Sonya Kozlova, nicknamed the Goat, lives in the abandoned village of Tikan-Tikad on the edge of the heather sea, which has flooded the spring tundra. Thirty years ago, leaving behind books, household items, and tools, people left this place, and for all these years, the wind, singing thrushes, and swallows have reigned here. One day, the Goat saw neat gingerbread houses of Tikan-Tikad in a picture on the internet, and now she has come, taken the most beautiful one, and affectionately calls it Hansel. It is a remote place here; besides a sturdy reindeer herder boy named Vady, who occasionally brings a partridge or a muzhik, people do not appear — and no one is interested in where the Goat came from and why she lives all alone. The Goat needs just that — to get lost, hide from everyone, find adventures, and fulfill her cherished dream.
