The cartoon "The Bremen Town Musicians," based on the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, premiered in 1969. The script was written by actor, director, and writer Vasily Livanov, and poet and playwright Yury Entin. The cartoon was very popular;... the whole country sang the songs of the Troubadour, the Robbers, the King, and the Princess. The lyrics for the songs were written by Yury Entin, and the music by Gennady Gladkov. In 1973, a sequel to the cartoon was released: "Following the Bremen Town Musicians." Our book includes two fairy tales with songs: "The Bremen Town Musicians" and "Following the Bremen Town Musicians."
