Practical Astrology in Two Parts

First published in 1679, this book is a genuine masterpiece of traditional astrology practiced in England during the Renaissance. The book contains a clearly formulated list of basic rules of astrology and a clear algorithm for considering horary questions on... the topics of different houses, complete with examples. The author also provides an extensive list of rules for elections.

The book was written after the publication of "Christian Astrology" by William Lilly, to whom the author occasionally refers, and is favorably distinguished from it by the absence of wordiness, confusion, and polemical pathos. In some sense, "Practical Astrology" is Lilly's astrology, but "simple and understandable." This is how the book was evaluated by Middleton's prominent colleagues, who prefaced the text with enthusiastic reviews.
