This question has been troubling the residents of Dark Sea for many years. Every time during a storm, they encounter a mysterious girl with a lantern in her hands on the shore, and... then with horror, they see her mermaid tail flickering in the sea. 15-year-old Martha knows the answer to this question, for she is also a mermaid. The mystery of an ancient shipwreck, family secrets, magical pendants full of magic, and an encounter with a desperate mermaid named Linda, willing to do anything to regain what was lost, are just a part of what Martha will face in Dark Sea, a small seaside town hidden among the cliffs.
