Mariasun Landa was born in Rentería (Basque Country) and lives in San Sebastián. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature and a regular lecturer at the Master's School of the University of the Basque Country. In 1991, she was awarded the Basque Prize in the field of children's and youth literature, awarded by the government of the Basque Country, and in 2003 she became the laureate of the National Prize in the field of children's literature for her book "Crocodile Under the Bed" published in Basque.
